A soldier reportedly killed an ISIS militant with an axe just as the terrorist was about to rape a young girl.
The soldier was part of a joint U.S.-British mission to rescue Jihadi brides in Syria, which began after ISIS members forced girls to marry them or else be brutally raped and dipped in acid. Intelligence officials reportedly learned of the atrocities and saw photos of what was happening — forcing them to step in.
The soldiers attacked the village where the horrific incidents were occurring and a two-hour firefight took place. One SAS soldier reportedly killed a terrorist with an axe in the middle of the gunfight.
The soldier was an Iraq and Afghanistan war sergeant who was going through a series of rooms when terrorists opened fire. He was reportedly able to shoot one dead but unable to hit the other. As the jihadist was running toward him, he picked up an axe and killed him.
“Members of Isis had been in the area for a few months and had been rounding up pre-pubescent girls who they wanted to become jihadi brides,” a source told Daily Star.
“If the parents protested they were shot dead or beheaded. Some of the girls ran away but were captured and we received reports that they were crucified or dipped in acid and suffered the most appalling deaths. A rescue mission was launched. Up to 30 fighters were killed. Some escaped. There were no prisoners. The girls and their families were relocated from the village to northern Iraq where they have been welcomed and offered homes.”
The story quickly went viral, with many praising the quick-thinking and brave soldier for doing what needed to be done.
“This time the good guys won. overjoyed to hear it. so happy those young women have been rescued,” one Daily Mail reader commented. “He did what had to be done, good on him,” another added.
