The Biden administration has already targeted common household goods like gas stoves, air conditioners, water heaters, and dishwashers. Now, in the guise of combating climate change, it has its eyes set on portable gas generators.

If adopted, a regulation put out by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) will force almost all currently available portable gas generators off the market.

The idea includes a stringent policy that would cause generators to automatically shut off when they exceed a predetermined pollution limit. Carbon monoxide emissions from smaller gas generators would need to be decreased by 50%, while those from larger generators would need to be cut by up to 95%.

“The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (Commission or CPSC) has preliminarily determined that there is an unreasonable risk of injury and death associated with acute carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning from portable generators. To address this hazard, the Commission proposes a rule under the Consumer Product Safety Act (CPSA) that limits CO emissions from portable generators and requires generators to shut off when specific emissions levels are reached,” according to the proposed policy.

Given these parameters, it’s predicted that nearly all models currently on the market will not be in compliance.

If passed, manufacturers would be required to comply within six months, which would be much quicker than the customary years-long adjustment period.

Single-phase, 300V or lower, 60-hertz generators with receptacle outlets for AC output circuits and mobile designs are among the impacted products. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the engines of these “portable” generators are primarily small spark ignition engines that run on gasoline, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), or natural gas (NG).

Notably, the rule will not apply to stationary generators that are permanently installed, generators that operate at 50 Hz, marine generators, generators that are permanently mounted in motor homes or recreational vehicles, generators that are attached to a vehicle, generators that use compression ignition engines, and industrial-type generators that are only designed to be connected to temporary circuit breaker panels at construction sites.

An anti-stockpiling clause in the draft rule forbids producers from increasing their output or importation of non-compliant portable generators before the final rule is published and put into force. In accordance with this clause, no more than 120 percent of the company’s average monthly production over the year prior may be used in the manufacture or importation of non-compliant goods.

The terrible “climate change” program of the regime will cause suffering and death to millions of common Americans.

Portable gas generators are much more than just a convenience for millions of Americans; they are a lifeline in times of crisis, a tool for disaster relief, an essential item on construction sites, and an essential part of outdoor leisure activities.

I don’t care what the idiot Biden proposes. I’m keeping my gas generator, my gas stove, my gas furnace, my gas mower, and my gas-guzzling car.
