He Left The Teacher A Note, And Now It’s Going Viral For All The Right Reasons…

One teacher revealed that this was the first time in his 12 years of teaching he had ever received a request of this sort from a student.

A teacher in a Kentucky high school recently witnessed an incredible act of kindness he will never forget. The gesture of compassion was extended by one of his students toward a classmate who was struggling academically.

Winston Lee, a history teacher at Letcher County Central High School in Whitesburg, recently shared a photo of the 11th grader’s test in which he included a note asking that the extra marks be transferred.

A photo of the pupil’s test shows that he had written a message to his teacher right below the answer bubble section.

“If you could, can you give my bonus points to whoever scores the lowest?” the test reads.

“Have to shout this out,” Winston wrote in the viral post. “Had honestly never seen this.”

Winston says that he was taken aback by the selfless request. The day before, the whole class took an interactive review game. As expected, the unnamed student did well, earning him a total of 5 bonus points for the World War II exam.

“I took it as a really compassionate, loving and kind act from a young person that most people would consider rare.” Winston remarked.

Winston was so overjoyed by the student’s act of generosity that he continues to fawn over the unnamed student, “He didn’t care if he considered them a friend, didn’t care if they were cool, didn’t matter to him what situation had caused them to score lower, he just wanted to help, be kind, commit a loving act.”

The gushing, emotional teacher concluded: “This note gave me so much hope. Let us all be a little more like this young man!”

The compassionate student scored 94 on the exam, and the bonus of 5 points could have bumped up his score to 99 had he not chosen to donate it to a classmate in need.

Since being uploaded, the image has earned its place in the viral hall of fame. More than 62,000 people have shared the content with their family and friends because it is just so uplifting and inspiring. Winston described the student as a “straight A+ guy,” which made the addition to the exam even better.

Although many people commended the unnamed student for his generous act. There are still others who disagreed with the boy’s request, saying that it wasn’t the right way to help someone struggling with grades.

Winston defended his decision by noting that he teaches in a Title I school, which means that some of the kids there live in low-income households.

“Not all are great test-takers or in a comfortable situation at home that allows them to focus on studying,” he said.

Nevertheless, this boy’s heart was in the right place, and his kind act definitely deserves to be lauded!
