The movement in Washington D.C. has been very interesting and has begged more questions from everyone besides answering them. Over the last couple of weeks, many people have witnessed and videoed that the White House has been unlit as well as other federal buildings in the surrounding areas.
Multiple generators, and battery and propane-powered vehicles have been strategically placed around the capital region too.
It is currently unclear why the backup power units, vehicles, and communication towers, and equipment have been set into place.
Twitter user @IndegoLeo10 posted three videos to the platform on 10 January showing the high-dollar equipment.
1 of 3, power outages? DC generators? Anybody know whats up? pic.twitter.com/p2W6dUKQ0H

Another video posted to the same account reveals the temporary power set-up around the National Mall.

David L Wood posted a video on Twitter on 19 January which shows a cache of generators and electric carts.
Why do they have all these power generators today everywhere in Washington DC it’s like there’s gonna be a power outage or something? @MrT @RudyGiuliani pic.twitter.com/ryPi09xvj6

“I wonder why they got all these generators here in D.C.?” he questioned in the video. “Why do they got all these electric carts and stuff?”
As we have reported earlier, there has been a lot of questions about why the White House and other government agencies in the area have been dark. There are also reports that the bus lines in the city do remain open but do lack passengers which again is weird for such a large metropolis.
As a caveat, a number of troops are still guarding the area.
I took these pictures a few hours ago at the Nations Capital building in Washington DC. Why are there still so many troops when the streets are empty? @RudyGiuliani @MrT pic.twitter.com/dfizGPCsk1
