Myrtle Beach Firefighter Delivers An Emergency Baby, But Then Something Happened [VIDEO]

Marc and Beth Hadden are calling the story behind the adoption of their daughter a miracle.

The two were looking to expand their family of four, but doctors told them that they would be unable to conceive another child. Although they were looking to adopt, WLOX reports they decided to leave the decision in “God’s hands,” with Beth saying that “if it’s meant to be, it will be.”

The South Carolina couple had nearly given up on the prospect of more children when husband Marc Hadden, a firefighter and part-time police officer, was called to report for duty in Nov. 2012.

“It was just a somewhat normal call,” said Hadden. “Very quickly we realized that it was going to be a life changer for us.”

When he arrived on scene, a woman was going into labor. There was no time to transport her to the hospital, so Hadden delivered the baby girl himself.

Hadden, excited that he helped deliver a baby, immediately called his wife.

“He called me and he was ecstatic,” Beth told WLOX. “I mean he delivered a baby, and who in the world gets to deliver a baby in their lifetime that’s not a doctor?”

However, their story doesn’t end here, as the baby, named Grace, was immediately put up for adoption. The couple took this as a sign, and adopted the child.

“I don’t know if I have words,” said Hadden. “I never envisioned that I would have a daughter. We are truly blessed. For sure.”

According to WALB, Hadden has a loving second home at the fire department. Named “Firefighter of the Year,” he is seen as an integral member of the force. His colleagues, wanting to show their appreciation, teamed up with Hadden’s family to help the Haddens move into a larger home to accommodate their new baby girl.

“I don’t know what we would have done because we have definitely outgrown our home. So we’re just truly blessed to have friends that will pull together for us like this,” said Hadden.

Although the Haddens feel as though their family is now complete, WLOX reports that they wouldn’t rule out the prospect of adopting another child down the road.
