Jorge — a parenting writer who penned a collection of essays on “being raised by the kid you’re raising” — documented what happened next in a series of tweets posted July 4.
“He had me do his wings, insisted on eyelashes, ate carefully to not ruin his lipstick,” she wrote in one Twitter post showing her boy in blue eyebrows and red lipstick. She added, “Me: You’re beautiful! K: Ma, we need to buy a wig.”

No wig happened this evening, but Jorge managed what appeared to be a lace red dress for her son — and even dubbed him with a drag queen name: Cat Astrfi.

Jorge joined him and posted photos of the pair in makeup, noting “momma wanted in on the action too.”
