Dashcam Captures Brutal Moment A Cyclist Is Sent Flying Over Car In Busy Intersection

Dashcam footage captures the moment a cyclist gets smashed by a car passing through an intersection.

According to Daily Mail:

The visuals, taken from a car approaching the crossing in Chicago, show the male cyclist attempting to cross the road slowly when a speeding silver sedan from the side knocks him across the front of the vehicle. The 32-year-old man is sent over the car and falls flat on the road.

At this point the person driving the car that captured the accident whispers: ‘Oh my god.’ The victim lay motionless as witnesses rushed to help him. The collision took place on the Roosevelt and Halsted in Chicago at 5:45 pm on Tuesday, July 18.

Incredibly the biker, who has remained unnamed, has survived the ordeal, Chicagoist reported. A woman who identified herself as the mother of the cyclist said that he was ‘alert and oriented’ after being taken to the hospital, but required surgery.

The driver of silver sedan was a 22-year-old woman who stayed on the scene of the collision, according to police, and had no record of prior traffic citation. The footage was posted on the cyclist message board Chainlink.
