Couple Arrested After Police Discover Video They Made With 1-Month-Old Baby

A couple was arrested who was alleged to have sexually abused a 1-to-2 month old infant boy which she filmed herself.

Investigators with the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office say Katherine Grace Rice, 31, made a video that showed her performing a lewd act with a 1-to-2-month-old baby.

She allegedly texted the video to her husband and he then sent the video to three people via Facebook, the Tampa Bay Times and WFLA reports. One person who received the video on Nov. 28 reported the video to the authorities. Katherine was arrested that night, and Derick was arrested on Nov. 30, after police found the video on his cellphone.

A probable cause affidavit said that someone reported receiving the video on Facebook and identified the person in the video as Katherine Rice. Deputies say they spoke with Rice’s husband, who allegedly told them he was aware of the video and his wife had texted him the video in May of 2015.

The affidavit said that Katherine Rice admitted to recording the video on her tablet in April or May of 2015. The infant was born in April of 2015.

Rice was arrested and charged with sexual battery involving a victim under 12 years of age and sexual performance by a child.

She is being held in the Pasco County Jail with bond set at $60,000.

While the husband of Katherine was recently arrested for sexual battery against a baby was arrested on child pornography charges.

The 30-year-old Derick Rice of Zephyrhills was charged with possession of sexual performance of a child and transmitting pornography by electronic device.

Derick Rice is being held at Land O Lakes Jail on $10,000 bond.
