Didn’t Michelle Obama speechify to liberals during her hopeless crusade to elect Hillary Clinton that “when they go low, we go high?” Some liberal nut jobs decided to ditch Michelle’s credo and dive to new lows in expressing their unhinged hatred for President-elect Donald J. Trump (and not to mention, for America).
It’s not enough for students at overpriced, liberal colleges like Brown University to stomp on flags during a Veterans Day event, or spoiled brats at American University to burn flags and shout “Fuck, white people.” Oh no…
Liberal administrators at Hampshire College in the blue-est of blue states, Massachusetts, have stopped flying the American flag because they decided it’s racist now that Trump was elected president by the people, per the Constitution and the law. Yep, the American flag—not the Confederate flag—is now a symbol of hatred.
The day after the election, an unknown group of people lowered the American flag on Hampshire College’s campus to half-staff. Rather than “go high” with the flag, administrators chose “to go low,” leaving it at half-staff for those who were grieving over Trump’s victory.
And before the school could raise it for Veterans day, it was burned. Instead of hoisting Old Glory back up where she belonged, Hampshire College decided to ban it for a while. How caring! On November 22, 2016, the school issued a statement on Facebook, in which it attempted to rationalize the bald face insult to our nation, and undermine the unity for which the flag stands.
Hampshire College president Jonathan Lash haughtily declared that “people for whom the flag is a very powerful symbol of fear they’ve felt all their lives because they grew up as people of color, never feeling safe—and people for whom it’s a symbol of their highest aspiration for the country.”
Maybe Lash should be reminded that the flag symbolizes country that freed slaves, fought for blacks to have civil rights and allows a black man to get elected president and a woman to run for the office. If America and all she represents is so distasteful to the snowflakes and Americans like Lash, there are plenty of freedom-hating nations like North Korea, Iran, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia or Syria where they can go where this type of stunt is rewarded with imprisonment or death.
“Some have perceived the action of lowering the flag as a commentary on the results of the presidential election – this, unequivocally, was not our intent. After some preliminary consultation with campus constituents (much more is needed), we decided on Friday that we will not fly the U.S. flag or any other flags on our college flagpole for the time being,” wrote Lash in a statement.
If refusing to fly the flag after Trump’s election isn’t racist, what is it? This is America, I wouldn’t expect a college or university to fly a Canadian flag. What’s more outrageous and an affront to the democratic principles upon which our republic was founded, is that Lash thinks removing the American flag can help professors carry out their propaganda indoctrination more effectively. Now you see it. Now you don’t, when it comes to the hateful flag. Now we can “instead focus our efforts on addressing racist, misogynistic, Islamophobic, anti-immigrant, anti-Semitic, and anti-LGBTQ rhetoric and behaviors,” waxed Lash. Translation: professors can trump up fake controversy and brainwash a new Red Army of snowflakes who express hatred for America (but don’t have the slightest clue they couldn’t begin to live without her).
What will these idiots think of next? One thing is for certain, if students had expressed the same disdain at the election of Barack Obama, Hampshire College would be flying the American flag high and proud. For a college that insists it is dedicated to diversity and inclusion, it looks like the paragon of bigotry.
Perhaps these disrespectful nitwits and the college administrators who enable them should spend some time with the Constitution. It is what grants them the freedom to act like complete jackasses, without fear of imprisonment or execution for exercising their first amendment rights—no matter how offensive.
