Bullies Dump Deaf Student’s Belongings In Toilet – Mom Makes Them Pay [VIDEO]

Bullies Dump Deaf Student’s Belongings In Toilet – Mom Makes Them Pay [VIDEO]

Burke High School administrators are investigating a reported case of bullying against a student who is deaf.

Alex Hernandez, a Nebraska high school senior, has been deaf since he was a baby. During a lunch period at school, someone took his backpack and dumped its contents in a toilet. The photo of his ditched belongings: school supplies, homework, a debit card, and his cochlear implant battery — which he needs in order to hear — went viral.

And security cameras revealed two male students walked off his bag.

Analy Luevano, Alex’s 16-year-old sister, could not stay quiet when she found out what happened to her brother.

But you will not believe what his peers did. They didn’t want him to leave school and wanted to do something to help, so they set up a GoFundMe page. They wanted to raise money to help him buy new belongings and a new cochlear implant to replace the one that was destroyed.

The donation goal was quickly raised with an overflow of funds. The students couldn’t believe the response.

“Due to the increase and high donations we decided to stop the fundraiser,” tweeted one of the students who helped set up the fundraiser “We raised enough money for the student to replace his school supplies!”

Hernandez told reporters that he has endured years of bullying because of his disability. He received cochlear implants when he was one year old so he has had this problem all his life.

“I wanted to thank all of my friends and those who wrote me for supporting me,” Hernandez said, “I am very happy. It made me feel like I am not alone.”

Although bullying still exists, kindness and love were the morals of this story. Hernandez now knows how much he is loved by his friends. I am sure from this day forward he will have many watching over him and standing up for him each and every day.

“Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. Trust in the Lord and do good.” Psalm 37
