To witness the holy vision of a teenage mystic, thousands of people gathered at a shrine in Ireland, Saturday afternoon.
The 14-year-old traveller revealed the Virgin Mary had appeared to him during a visit to Portuguese pilgrimage site Fatima last month and told him that she would reappear at Knock Shrine in County Mayo, Ireland, at 3pm on Saturday.
Millions of people believed that the Virgin Mary appeared at Knock in 1879. In a hope to catch a glimpse of her, thousands have waited again yesterday.
Initially, it seemed she had failed to appear – but now a video has emerged on social media showing the clouds above the shrine claimed as Virgin Mary by worshippers.
Biddy Connors posted the video on Facebook, with caption: “Our Lady appeared in knock today. Astonishing, never get over what I saw. Please watch.”
The Virgin Mary reportedly told the Portuguese boy that she would appear at Knock and bless those present. Though, it is not clear where exactly the image of the Virgin Mary is, at the clouds captured in the video.
Subsequently, news of his claims spread through the traveler community via social media. The boy’s father posted an audio message online describing what his son had witnessed at the shrine in Portugal.
He said: “For two days our son seen Our Lady in Fatima and he seen the visionaries. “The visionary from Medjugorje was speaking to him in Portuguese and (he) was able to understand every word out of her mouth.”
He added: “On the tenth of June we will be going to Knock and whoever wants to come is welcome. Our Lady will appear…
“Whoever wants to be there at three o’clock Our Lady will come down, I can’t say if the three visionaries will be there, but I know Our Lady will be there.
“It’s out there for everybody who believes in it.”
He admitted he felt “stressed” and what had happened was a lot for his young son to take in.
