When hiring someone for a job, sometimes you have to weigh the upside with the downside that might come with them.
With Colin Kaepernick, the man does have ability as a football player. Politics aide, his ability cannot exactly be disputed. But….
He is too much of a public relations headache. Countless times in sports we have team general managers and team owners cut people looks because despite their ability they were too much of a headache as it came to a public relations nightmare.
Every single NFL game that he would appear in if he got hired to another team for the next season would be a situation where there would be protests on both sides which would include the possibility of some for of violence at some point.
Coupled with the fact that they would have to hire extra security to the point that it might become cost prohibitive and if I were an owner it wouldn’t be worth the risk. Then you have the issue of let’s say some protester on either side gets a little too handsy with a security guard or the protester decides that the guard was using too much force and decides to sue the team? Then you’d have every moron showing up to an NFL game to look for a payday.
That’s one of the reasons why they haven’t signed Kaepernick, he’s too much of a problem off the field.
It’s like a company that I worked for once where they hired a guy who was an absolute master at the job that he did. He was amazing. The problem was is that he was a terrible drunk who started showing up to work in no condition to work. They had to let him go because he became too much of a headache.
During a 60 Minutes interview with Anderson Cooper, the freshman Democrat-Socialist Congresswoman, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez told Cooper that she prefers European style socialism over Venezualan style of socialism (where citizens are currently eating their dogs when they can’t find enought trash to eat).
Who knew that socialism was so vastly different from one continent to another?
“There’s an element, yeah, where people are going to have to start paying their fair share,” Ocasio-Cortez told Cooper. “Once you get to the tippy tops, on your 10 millionth dollar, sometimes you see tax rates as high as 60 or 70 percent” she continued.
Republican Congressman, Dan Crenshaw (TX) jokingly tweeted about a 70% tax on the Patriots so that the NFL competition is more fair and equal.
Ocasio-Cortez immediatedly responded, by threatening NFL owners who refuse to hire the kneeling, Black Lives Matter activist, turned unemployed NFL quarterback, that they would feel the pain of her 70% tax increase. Ocasio-Cortez also foolishly pointed out that NFL players who make an average of a mere $2.1 million, would be insulated from her insane tax plan.
Is anyone really safe from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez—including Alexandria Ocasio Cortez?
The average NFL salary is $2.1 million, so most players would never experience a 70% rate.
The owners who refuse to hire Kaepernick would, though. https://t.co/AnST2lCiU9
