Joe and Jill Biden are launching the Biden Foundation, a nonprofit with a broad to-do list that includes cancer research, support for military families and sexual assault prevention.
The former vice president and his wife said that, with the foundation, they want to continue the work they started when he entered the White House in 2008.
“We look forward to this new chapter where we will continue our work to ensure that everyone — no matter their income level, race, gender, age, or sexuality — is treated with dignity and gets a fair shot at achieving the American Dream,” the Bidens said in a statement to the Washington Post.
The foundation will be funded by tax-deductible donations and headquartered in Washington. Louisa Terrell, who previously worked for Facebook, will run the foundation.
