Such a weak, delicate, and frail looking old man who was walking down the street on his way to get his food when the attack occurred.
Surveillance video has captured the shocking moment when a 90-year-old man was hit in the head in an unprovoked attack by a 19-year-old man on Friday.
Authorities say that the assault occurred in the neighborhood of Inwood in Manhattan around 5:55pm.
It can be seen in the video that the perpetrator was just walking down the street and when he noticed the elderly man, this heartless man kicked the old man’s shopping cart then delivered a vicious stike to the head using a cane.
Passersby were shocked and stunned by the sudden assault, but one Good Samaritan quickly jumps in to try and break up the fight.
He even delivers a punch to the attacker before he manages to run off west on Broadway.
The motive for the assault remains under investigation, but appears to be unprovoked.
The elderly man was known to be Juan Llorens who was rushed to a local hospital, where he was treated for lacerations to the head and ear.
The cold-blooded assailant was seen on the video wearing headphones over a blue Yankees baseball cap, a black T-shirt over a gray long-sleeved shirt, pajama bottoms with checker box print and black sneakers.
Later, Saul Nunez, 19, was arrested by the NYPD after he was allegedly caught on surveillance footage hitting Llorens with a cane as he was pushing his cart down Broadway. He faces assault and criminal possession of a weapon charges.
There is still no confirmation that Nunez is indeed the person described in the video.
Despite the attack, Llorens said he forgives the teen who attacked him.
