Gun control remains an intensely-debated topic in the United States on the heels of several recent mass shootings and anytime the topic comes up, you can be sure there will be at least one Hollywood hypocrite running their mouth about that which they are so poorly educated on.
Jason Bourne star Matt Damon, for example, probably didn’t raise many eyebrows in Australia when he lamented that he wished our country could handle gun control the way Australia did, but his remarks are making waves here in America.
During promotional round-robin interviews for the film, Damon told media reporter Sarah Thomas that he thought Australia had gotten it right, and that Americans are “too emotional” about guns to talk “sensibly” about them:
“You guys did it here in one fell swoop, and I wish that could happen in my country, but it’s such a personal issue for people that we cannot talk about it sensibly. We just can’t. People get so emotional that even when you make a suggestion about not selling AK47s to people on terror watch lists, that’s a non-starter. I don’t know what needs to happen. Obviously mass shootings aren’t going to do it.”
The level of hypocrisy on display by Hollywood liberals never ceases to disappoint, especially when you consider the vast majority of them are escorted everywhere by armed bodyguards.
