Mississippi authorities are currently investigating two separate crime scenes after the gruesome discoveries of a severed head and a headless body nearby in Jackson.
A group of children were beyond traumatized after finding an unexpected headless body while they were playing in the woods in Jacksonville, according to the local police in Mississippi.
Jackson authorities said that the discovery was made on Saturday morning, which was just several hours following an incident where a homeowner found a severed head on his front porch.
Residents of where the severed body was found said that they didn’t recognize the person.
Both sets of remains are only identified as those of a black male.
According to initial investigations, the head and the burned body appear to belong to the same black male and that the murder appears to have been committed with personal grudge and rage as the head was cut at the neck.
Jackson Chief of Police Lee Vance spoke about the incident, providing clarification on a possible motive.
“Obviously, rage was an ingredient, perhaps some type of message sending. No I have never seen anything to occur where a head has been torn or cut from a body.” “Due to the type of crime and the proximity of the body parts, we can assume perhaps this is the remains that were attached to the head,” Jackson Police Chief Lee Vance said.
Author and producer of the documentary series Hidden Colors Tariq Nasheed spoke on the incident and may have some exclusive information from residents of Jackson, saying that the victim was a homeless man.
Some are creating speculations along with the known history of the south, in particular Mississippi, racial motivation is the first thing that comes to mind but authorities are not ruling out that this could be gang related.
